The 8 Days Rwanda Wildlife Safari is a classic safari tour package that takes you to all the three most visited Rwanda National Parks. You will start with the scenic Akagera National park, continue a drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park and end a safari visit to the home of the unique mountain gorillas-—Volcanoes National Park. You will enjoy the different backdrops of Rwanda as you turn along the winding roads. These national parks are comprised of savannah, forest and mountainous, that gives you a gainful view of the country of the thousand beautiful hills ‘’Rwanda’’.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at Kigali International Airport
Pick up: Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our Akagera Safari driver guide, take you through a short briefing about the safari. Then, you will be driven to your hotel in Kigali. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park – Boat Safari
Transfer to Akagera: After morning breakfast, go for a short city tour with a visit to the Kigali Genocide memorial to learn about the Rwanda history. After this city tour, you will transfer to Akagera National Park with short stopovers along the way for memorable photography.
Arrive in the park in the time for lunch, check in and have lunch.
Boat safari; After lunch, you will take a boat trip on Lake Ihema for Hippos and Crocodiles. Return at the lodge, relax as you, meditate about the activities.
Optional; Night game drive in search of some nocturnal animals.
Akagera National Park is a scenic savannah park located in north eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania. More so, it boosts with big game which can be easily seen during morning game drive or evening game drive. During game drive adventure in the park, expect to watch animals like Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Water bucks, Bush bucks and recently introduced lions. The best site for game drive in Akagare is visiting the northern sector of the park.
The game drive can take almost the whole day depending on the animal sightings and your interests.
After your full day game adventure, return to the lodge and have a restful time. You can choose to read a book or simply hanging out to enjoy the fresh air. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Transfer to Nyungwe: You will have relaxed morning breakfast at the lodge, after checkout and proceed the journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park with a stopover for lunch in Huye formerly known as Butare. Huye site boosts with the ethnographic museum of Rwanda that was formerly known as the National museum of Rwanda. Along your visit here, you will learn about the culture and history of the Rwandan people. Arrive in Nyungwe forest late in the evening, check in at your lodge. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 5: Rwanda Chimpanzee Tracking and canopy Walk
Chimpanzee Tracking: Wake up have early morning breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up to drive you at the park headquarter at 6:30am for briefing and at 8am. You will be accompanied by the ranger guide to lead you in search for chimps in their nature inhabitant.
The tracking can take about 30munites to 5 hours depending on their movements in the forest. Once you locate them one hour will be allowed to spend with them, as you learn about their amazing life style as well as enjoying to capture videos. Trek back at starting point and drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Later, your guide will lead you to either the Uwinka trail head or the Cyamudongo sector for chimpanzee trekking.
Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park takes you deep in the forest to experience the natural beauty of the park. Fact, Nyungwe Forest boosts with biodiversity of 13 species of primates like L’Hoest’s monkeys, Rwenzori colobus monkeys, Red tailed monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Grey cheeked mangabeys among others. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Nyungwe and then transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Transfer to Volcanoes: After having your aroma tea/coffee served with delicious snacks, check out of the lodge in Nyungwe. You will set off a journey to the Volcanoes National Park in the northern Rwanda along the way. You will enjoy a great sights of Lake Kivu and winding roads in the land of thousands hills. Arrive at the lodge. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 7: Gorillas in The Mist – Volcanoes NP
Gorilla Trekking: After early morning breakfast, drive at the park headquarters in Kinigi about the briefing and after you will be assigned to a gorilla family to trek by the park ranger guide. The activity starts at 8am, accompanied by guide in search for mountain gorillas in their nature habitat. Gorilla trekking can last from an hour or less to several hours, depending on where the gorillas were previously located. You will enjoy this experience. After, return back to the lodge for lunch.
Depending on the time the gorilla trekking lasts, you have a chance to go for a cultural group performance by visiting a cultural village or engage in a community walk. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 8: End of the Rwanda Wildlife Safari
Depart: On your last day on this Rwanda Wildlife Safari. You will have breakfast and transfer to the airport for your exit flight. Or, be dropped at the hotel in Kigali.
